Default Whats new we should hold out for??

What is new for the year 2006 that a guy should be aware of before buying a motor. Or should I not be so damn picky and just git-r-done!!!!:D

Just get one.....NEVER wait, cuz there will always be something new within a short period of whatever you bought....no matter how long you waited. It's just the nature of Mud Buddy and developing new stuff all the time....you'll wait around for no good reason, when you could be running something and having fun, and trade-up later just as easy. :D

Our company policy is to announce any new products six months prior to release. This gives customers an opportunity to plan accordingly.

We release new motors every year. This year we will have the 6, 9 and 14 mini HD Sport; the 23, 31, 35 and 45 HD Sport Light, a new Shaggy blind, and two new boat accessories, the duck hunting chest pack and the dead bird storage bag. Trashduck saw the chest pack and it is sweet. Justin is wearing one in our duck hunting video this year as well.

We have reverse planned for late this fall, and doing our best to make it fit all Hyper models over 23 horse. It may require a new mount, swivel and actuator for earlier models, but for now, it bolts right up.

The 45 HD Sport has already been released. :D

Yep, bought my 42 Sport about 6 months too soon. I guess that's my luck. Oh well I can always upgrade the motor when I get ready to add the reverse!:D

With all the advancements in just the last year I would think our current short tails will be obsolete by then. It's gotten almost as bad as buying a "new" computer. That is to say it is only the lastest and greatest the first day it hits the market.

Glenn,
I'm glad to see you added the 35 sport light as a production motor. You had said when we talked Friday (phone) that you hadn't planned on putting it out in a 35. My guess is I wouldn't have been the only one asking for one.

Good job. Can't wait to see it.

The "hyper lite" won't be available until May or June and it does not have a clutch or power trim, and the mount is made smaller (because it will not need the hook ups for remote steering nor the trim), thus the package will be 50-100 lbs less (depending on the hp) than the current sport models made today. Also, the lite frame will be available with all of the current motor models available today and considerably cheaper too.

BoatDR,

I was talking to Glenn the other day and I am pretty sure he told me the Lite will now have a clutch. This is due to feedback he has received since the original announcement. Best to check with him for confirmation.

I was told that it would be available as an add on (just like the 2004 hyperdrive models were sold)????? guess we will find out in a couple of months what the final model is.

The light is more balanced than the sport which is a weight back design. The balanced has a bit longer drive/out shaft also.

See Glen's descriptions on other posts-I think Basic Update is the name.

there are subtle changes like larry said but that is why they named it the "hyper lite" for the weight savings (or to be able to put larger horse power on smaller boats).

basically, people like options and this is just another option from mudbuddy to touch another market.....different strokes for different folks.

Thanks guys for the info. So does anyone know what pricing is going to be on these? I am thinking 35 BUT a 45 might be in the offing if cheap enough.
