Tomb, here are the pics you requested of a standard excel floor plan, vs the full floor option. Both boats are 1851's with excel's new quad chine and flat front, but the full floored boat pictured has the new lower sides (20"). standard floorplan: 20" sided, with full floor option:

Good question. The bildge area is in the compartment at the transom.

Excels come standard with 20" transom, but you can get/request a short transom if you like. And both are the same price. I just got my first shipment of boats in last week, and none of them are short transom's so I cant say for sure, but I'm pretty sure that the rear box (the small box inbetween the floatation pods, does not come on the short transom boats. If I find out for sure I'll let you know.

The front deck is 45". And to my knowledge that is the only size deck they offer (with the shallow water series boats that is).

I just got an 1851 flat front for stock, and it has the full floor and 24" sides. The fit and finish are wonderful, and the super liner over the camo looks great! ![]() ![]() I wouldn't have a boat with those wide gutters. Too much of a trip hazard. BigBand Mud Buddy NW |

| The nice part about the gutters is you can add the new gunbox later if you want to it slips in that spot. Both floors are sweet, the transom height is optional on all boats from what I was told, now that is not to say things could have changed since I last asked. I have 4 being delivered today can't wait to get my hands on them!!!

45" seems excessive and would take away valuable room for those of us that like to hunt 3 or 4 hunters out of the boat... I'd like to see a model with a shorter front deck for us duck hunters that use the boat strictly for that purpose... All we would really need is enough deck for the tank and battery to fit under...just a thought... | |

Can anyone chime in on what a short transom looks like on the 17x51 flat front model? There is speculation in this thread that there may be a design difference on the rear center pod between the short and tall transom models... Last edited by ducaholic; 03-13-2010 at 08:29 AM. |

I dig the gutter floors... IMHO it keeps the shells and crap off the walk area... then when you get home you just scoop it out... thats what I'm going to want when I order a F4
