Ok fellas, heres what I got. Due to some strong opposition theres been a change of plans. Heres an email I recieved this morning, PLEASE READ. Dear Jim; In a drastic change of events I received a call from Jim Hulbert of Sheboygan County telling me do to the number of complaints and concerns they received about our event that they talked to legal representatives of the county and if I don't shut down the event they will proceed to get a court injunction to stop it! I have talked to everyone till I was blue in the face. They are my landlords and I can't fight city hall. Please get on the web sites and let all the great people know we can't run the event. I was so ****ed off yesterday I almost had a heart attack. Please let all people know the political end and that our hands got tied after they said it would be O.K. If they want to voice their opinion they can contact Jim Hulbert from the county at 920-459-3765, and I hope that they do.You know I put in at least 50 hours of work on this and still believe it would have been a great event. Thanks for all your hard work as well. I will send back the checks I received so far as well. I will cancel the camp sites that were booked also. Very sorry and not happy with these political issues. Soooooooooooo We are looking to still have a Cook out, possibly catered, at a large public park, its on a public waterway, with accommodations available only different location. Still working out details, please be patient. There has been too much work involved in this to turn back on a friendly get together between law abiding , nature loving, licence paying citizens of this free country of ours. Please post up your thoughts I would like to thank Scott Mcmurry for all the time he invested in this. If youd like,,, thank him personally by stopping in at http://www.threeguysandagrill.com/

| If you are sitting at your computer and reading this why don't you just send an email to Mr. Jim Hulbert (hulbejch@co.sheboygan.wi.us)? Maybe if enough free, fun loving Americans, acting in a legal way, call (920-459-3765), write or email Mr. Hulbert we may get some better answers about why this was shut down. A list of the complaints and who is complaining should have been part of any meeting where this kind of decision was made. Each side should have had the opportunity to present their concerns and there should have been the possibility of a comprise. Scott and Jim went out of their way to inform the county of our intentions. If this was going to be some wild event, then why bother to inform the county and DNR our desire to run this event? The way I understand what happened is that the people that Scott had talked to had some concerns, but that the event was a go. So what happened between the last meeting and the phone call? I hope the county board( or whoever made this decision) realizes that this could have been a great event to help kick off the fund raiser needed for the tower that they want to build. Hundreds if not thousands of future dollars lost in hotel rooms, restaurant bills, gas and all the other things that would have had bought in the county by non-county visitors coming to this and other events. In these hard economic times it sure is interesting that a group would not want the money that an event of any kind could generate.

If it indeed was discussed at the county board level then a person should be able to ask for the minutes of the meeting to see what was said and who said it and then the vote on the matter via open records law.

Before I jump to any more conclusions I would like some facts so I have crafted a letter that will be going in the mail to Mr. Hulbert asking for more information. Right now that is all I can do. If I don't receive any answers from him then I will forward the letter to County Administrator and ask him for the information. If that doesn't work, there is always the County Board Meetings held in Sheboygan. I am sure that someone other there has the answers. There has been some discussion on other forms about just showing up and running around the marsh anyway. If extra mud sets up something somewhere else that isn't over an hour or two, I would be happy to show some of you around this beautiful marsh. A stop for breakfast at the lodge and then on to the main event sounds like a great way to spend a day. When I get some informtion about the county's reasons, I will pass them on. |

Link to WI Flyway - http://www.refugeforums.com/refuge/s...d.php?t=607474 Hey guys, with all the fun the guys have down south with their Poker Runs it had been brought to my attention that we needed one a bit closer to home. Sooooo, with the help of a freind weve found a Host in Wisconsin who has a launch, Camping, a Hall, even catering with a pig roast! All this right on a marsh. Note: There are Motels close by also. Pretty much show up, pay an entry fee to cover the poker run, the pig roast and basicly have a good time. Weve got two dates to choose from being May 17th and August 30th. Everyone is welcome, bring your family.
