Aight fellers, looks like another year has come and gone and here we find ourselves staring down this great event once again. ![]() On behalf on myself and my co-chair, Robby Ritchey of Fowl Play Mud Motors, we would like to once again extend the invitation to all to attend our 4th Annual MB Texas Round Up out at Caddo Lake. I will post the itinerary up here on the forum within the next few weeks. May be trying something a little different this year as well. Just got off the horn with Gary out at Crips Camp and he is short on accommodations. He says he has only (1) cabin and (1) 4 bed trailer to rent. Says that he has had many already booked for our event since the beginning of last Dec. Filled up quick this year and it doesn't surprise me at all. This event is growing every year and once again this year looks to be even bigger than the last. There are several other options for accommodations in the area. I need to find the links to those places and I will post them up. Looks like we gonna need lots of re-inforcements this year. This is testament to the support you guys show this event in helping it become the largest mm event in Texas ![]() Anyhoo, yes the event is set for May 3 out at Crips Camp Marina. We will most likely be offering the maint. seminar again as well as a carb clinic for those wanting to know all about the new mods that are being offered. This clinic will most likley take place the friday before the event(May 2nd). I will be out there on thursday May 1 if anyone wants to get together for a little run and gun on the water or maybe get a line wet. There will be several boat manufacturers there as well to showcase their wares and let folks demo their boats. Also, the event just wouldn't be complete without the usual Fun Run on saturday afternoon after the demo event. So be sure and ice down your favorite beverages, pack the sunscreen and join us for an afternoon of backwaters running that is nothing short of a hoot. More details to come soon............................

| http://www.marshall-chamber.com/pages/caddolake.php http://easttexastowns.com/DirectoryCLAC.cfm There aren't to many actual motels/hotels on or around Caddo Lake like you would see on other recreational lakes. Most of the lodging is cabins at the marinas or bed & breakfast cottages. All of them are reasonably priced, but like Rick said they fill up quick. I would be glad to answer anyone's questions about how far they will be from Crip's so that you don't end up on the other side of the lake and spend half the day driving. Dad and I are staying at the Hodge Podge Cottage #5 and tbeke & charliemac are staying in #3 which are right across the cove from MB South head quarters on Taylor Island. Rick let me know what I can do to help. As always, I am here to serve.

Here are a couple more links of locations with rooms/cabins to rent, just in case they aren't listed in the links I posted previously. All 3 are within 5 minutes drive time by truck or boat of Crips Camp. If there is a group of guys or you might be bringing your family, I would recommend checking out the B&B's as most of them are very reasonably priced and can sleep more people most of the time. Not to mention, alot of them have full kitchens and multiple bathrooms. http://www.johnsonsranch.com/ http://www.shadygladeresort.com/ http://www.uncertaininn.com/

Gonna drive up Saturday morning, stay the night and head home Sunday. (Gotta work Friday). Anybody stay someplace with the wife that they would reccomend? I saw the B&B's, just wanted to check before I booked anything. Also, Rick...what are we doing on Sat? What's the plan for a first timer? Do we have a spot to hook the boat up overnight or do we trailer it?....details details my friend, I'm a rookie! ![]() I know Sunday is reserved for Antique shopping with the boss, somethin about 50/50, give and take...:tomato:

| Jefferson really is a cool little town. Kind of like Salado without the overpriced art galleries. Lots of history, back in the mid-late 1800's when Jefferson was booming port city Jay Gould wanted to bring the rail road to town. The townspeople didn't like the idea and he got pi$$ed and told them that "grass would grow in their streets". Well, as the story is told, grass did grow in the streets and Gould took his railroad elsewhere. To the Big D, now Jefferson is a quite little bedroom community in East Texas and Dallas is the 2nd largest city in Texas and the 9th in the country. Like deadbird said "alot of useless information" My Dad is from Marshall and my grandparents owned a house on the lake for over 50 years, so all the history of the area has always interested me.
