How do you know when it is time to get a new prop? I bought a used MB 27hp Kaw LT and as far as I know it is the orginial prop. With two people, a couple dozen decoys, boat blind with grass, and a 100lb dog we are running fully loaded about 11mph. When we first got the boat with just two people and no other gear it was running 17 - 18 mph (all per GPS). I'm just wondering if a new prop will get us running faster. She seems to just plow with all that gear and is just on the verge of getting up on a true plane.

Wow! that is some difference. How do I know which size prop? I looked on MB web site and for a 27hp Kaw MB it lists 9x7 Tiger Prop but why wouldn't a 11 x 10 Hyper work? Mine definitely looks like the one on the bottom now, but I don't see a size.

Your motor is a long tail. I think the props are different for long tails. Just call MB and ask which prop you need. Customer Service 801.352.1458 801.565.8714

If your motor is a longtail, yes you need a 9x7. If you put a bigger prop it will bog the motor down, and you will not be able to plane out with any load in the boat. Where in LA are you Sailor? I have props here if you are near the N.O. area.

| BoatDr how do those blades hold up? I found them on-line, and wondered how they would do. I like the preformance of the big blade it has last longer that my original tiger blade. I have been pretty hard on it and it still looks like new.
