This is the latest in our lineup for 09. This 1851 (my favorite Excel) was parked outside our open house yesterday and I couldn't resist getting a couple photos for the forum and Justin. This is his next boat. Hope you don't mind me saying this, but the fit and finish on this and other boats on display are second to none. In a week or so, I will show the universal box system we have up our sleeve that ties into the side trays. We also have the ultimate fully-adjustable standup bar (I have been saving this fold-up design for a long time and Tim made it happen.) We are fine tuning the sliding mount and very close to posting the photos on the Excel site. The photos show the new Improved Pod System, the redesigned recessed light panel and rear battery box. The storage trays, as can be seen here are tough. A customer at the open house walks along the top. We did a lot of work arranging the rear swivel seat location so that it is easier to run the motor, providing lots of leg and elbow room. I am not much on swivel seats with mud motors, but we figured it out with the new design combination. The rear switch and light panel has two lights, one switched ambre and one white. This allows you to have subtle light (if needed) in certain hunting conditions. One photo shows how we are running the ribs right up into the forward bow for added impact strength. Of course they go clear to the transom and are a full 4" wide of extruded hardened aluminum. Here are a few shots of our new aluminum (full tube trailer). They are custom made for us and all I can say is wow - great quality and the price is more than fair. We are going to ship some of these first class trailers to Utah. I am like a 2 year old - after crawling around thinking about what I always wanted to do, I can finally run. This boat building is fun and allows me and Tim to introduce a lot of innovations we always wanted to incorporate into hunting and fishing boats. Lots more to come. |

I've been told that the square nosed models, comes standard with floors to walls, but havent got a confirmation yet. But the pointed bow model (like the one pictured) comes with the floor shown (for now).

does anyone know why the floors drop? It seems like a waste but I,m not sure why this was done, maybe I missed something. I just sold my excel but I will tell you that they are built extremely well.

I'm very interested in the 1851, which they say has the floors to the wall (in the flat nose model). WestCoastSlayer if you don't mind me asking why did you sell your Excel.

Ok, I just got clarification. The boat pictured is a 51" bottom. All 51" bottom boats will come standard with the floor shown. However they are working on an option to extend the floors over to the side of the boat, but it is not available yet. On the other hand (and where the confusion came in) the 54" bottom boats come standard with the floors to the side. They have a trim pannel that covers the seam at where the floor meets the sides, which is why they make them that way (and unfortunately the 51"s cant be made with that trim pannel)...........Oh and one other thing, the 54" will only come with the pointed bow. All of this is per Glenn, hopefully it clears some things up.

tomb, I sold my excel because where I hunt I dont need a mud motor so I went back to a war eagle with a 12 degree v. It just is faster, smoother, and is suited better for an outboard which is what I run. But if I were running a mud motor, in my opinion there is no other boat to have. The new excels look like they are really stepping it up
