I made a mistake by suggesting we conduct a Mud Buddy Roundup in LA, in March 2007. For that I apologize. Our Mud Buddy Roundups are gaining in popularity and I understand concerns by many that the Roundup will distract from the LA Mudfest which is also a charity event. So, we are changing the date and most likely the location so that we don't cause any concerns and issues with attendance. We had a great time in LA last year and are anxious to return for more fun, but we will focus on another area and date in order to perpetuate peace and harmony within the mud motor community. LA in March is the best time and place for mud events, but with all respect, we will change our date and location accordingly. Sorry for any concerns. __________________________________________________ ______________ We are proud to announce and extend an advance invitation for all Mud Buddy longtail and short tail customers to join us September 2007 for two fun days of mud running in south central Louisiana. Yes, other mudders and brands are invited as well. We plan on accomplishing a number of things. Each year we contribute an appreciable amount of time and resources to waterfowl organizations and we believe in the spirit of fundraising, like other well planned events in LA, we will do our best to format the LA Mud Buddy Roundup so that it helps these organizations as well. We have lots of work to do and are open to additional suggestions. Organizers will post up details and dates soon. Last edited by Glenn; 07-09-2006 at 09:36 AM. |

The Mud Buddy Roundups are getting popular and we are heading to LA next year. We like the LA Mudfest location, however, just got an email suggesting we may have hit the mud just right last spring and that may not happen again, and there might be better areas to run that time of year. Open to suggestions, however, I am going to leave the final date and location up to you customers, local dealers and prostaff. |

Not to cause any more problems, but just remember that teal season starts in September down here. Might want to set the date for as early in the month as possible. That way the birds could have a little time to settle back into a routine before the season starts.

We have a habit of placing teasers out there that allow us to gather up our wits and make the right final decisions. This one created a well deserved stir. However, we do listen... But as you know, we follow through on ideas and teasers and make them reality. The spring date was not good and hopefully the fall will be. If not, perhaps another month in the spring.

Actually a kick in the pants is a better description. We announced a logo change a couple years ago and nearly had the same reaction. I think coke tried that once also.

I suggested Spring, but it would possibly distract from a fundraiser. That was a bad idea and we wisely changed dates quickly. Then, got lots of suggestions for fall during the break between duck seasons. For now, the LA MB Roundup will be next fall. |

If you have it in October, the reds and specs are kickin' butt that time of year, generally. Could be a lot of extra fun, w/o competing with duck seasons or fundraisers.:017:

October is one of the best months for fishing reds in the marshes! This could entice more people to come down to sling some mud and some reds into the boat.

In SE La., there are not many places with accomodations since Katrina. Cypress Cove Hotel in Venice is open again and Venice Marina has cabins for rent. In Empire, Empire Inn is open with a bunch of Travel Trailers as rooms. Besides Venice, there really isn't much in SE La. with accomodations at this point in post Katrina time so you might have to pick a place in South Central or SW La... I am fishing in a tourney this fall (Oct to be specific) in Cocodrie near Houma which I think is near Point Aux Chenes WMA. I was told the tourney is there since they have two marina/motels with boat slips under the rooms to accomodate large crowds, but I don't know what kind of mudding terriority is available there. This will be my first time to fish Cocodrie. Cajun in GA is from South Central La. he might have some input. Hyperhead might know of some places in SE La.... Sorry, But I am not much help on this one, unless of course you want to know where to catch the fish! Last edited by Coot; 07-10-2006 at 04:11 PM.

pac wma is not far from Houma. I am not familiar with pac though. but im sure there are folks on here who are. as everyone knows who lives in s. la. there are alot of folks down there that think they own the water and will gladly run you off or at least try to etc. i grew up fishing in golden meadow and there are many places there now that u just can't fish. |

PAC has lots of shallow water you can even catch a limit of fish on the right day. I don't necessaraly think the shallow water is exactly what you are looking for. THere are several areas near the Morgan City area that are loaded with spots to run and also have hotels nearby, the only problem is that you won't be catching many trout in those areas. they are typically more on the fresh water side of course down there nothing is fresh. You can fight for a few reds but its not Hopedale or Golden Meadow by any means.
