Anyone ever modified a stadard GT boat to be hunted like a Gator Hide. I'd love a hide, but I dont think it would fit down most of the trails in my marsh. Second thought, I know it wouldn't. With a 44 I'm running some boat in the grass on the sides. Laying in the bottom, it seems to me that there is plenty of room (I'm only 5'9") even for bigger guys. If anybody's done it I'd love to see some pics of how the decks, gunports and other details were handled. I was thinking of having the substructure made of square tubing that would fit into a female part in the deck/bottom of the boat so it could be removed to fish.

For that use, just think fabric cover with openings and grass straps....anything with a hard fram/shell will be too heavy on a 44 anyhoo, and you can have a cover made a whole lot cheaper than buying aluminum.

I've used the boat cover/hide from Cabelas and it works great..... I've got a 1744 with the normal length deck and center bench, and the rest is wide open. I have the cover that is made for a 14'-16' rig, but it fits fits my 17' boat just right (tight enough to keep it flat). I attached Killer weed to all of the loop straps and it looks good. Best of luck...

We are working on something for that guys. DON'T ASK! Give me some time, won't be this season, but next summer you will see a solution for this question. No it won't replace the hide, nothing will. But it will be a viable second best.

| Three of us laid down in my 1750 hunt deck last year with fast grass matts laid on top of us etc. to try to kill some ducks in araa with no to little cover where the ducks were skittish and flaring off of the fast grass blind which was taller than everything around us. The tallest grass where we were hunting was about 1' tall. We shot a couple of ducks like this and if I had better concealment we might of shot more. It was fairly comfortable, but I don't think anything will beat the Hide in regards to comfort and concealment. I will patiently wait to see what Kman offers next summer since I plan to keep my hull for a while. I hope it is something that might work with a fast grass blind in the down position too b/c I still use the fast grass blind often when the ducks are DUMB AND STUPID!

I didn't know you took your boat to Canada to hunt! They get educated in every state along the way so I know you arent talkin about ducks that make it down to LA!
