Default I pulled the trigger on my new GT today!

I finally pulled the trigger today!

17' Gator Flats (No foam)

Cobblestone color

Open floor plan

Top hatch front deck

Flush deck, catwalks and rear boxes

Left rear box lengthened forward to 28" livewell for culling redfish

Grab bar

Tank and battery trays up front under 26" xtra long extended deck

Cat eye runnin lights

Trolling motor mount and plug bracket

Seat bases floor and front deck

pretty much bare bones and light, I will add everything else I need as I need it.

45 Sport for Power

I finallize with Kent tomorrow!

Gonna pick it up myself and get a tour of GT and meet the LA bunch.

Thanks for all of the advice and info, i know I didn't heade everything I heard, didn't add all the goodies I was told to but I did learn a great deal and believe I have what I needed to do what I need the boat for.
Thanks again!

I STRONGLY advise you add the receiver in the front. It is very hard if not impossible to add later and I use mine for two things now and will likely add a third: 1) Front rudder for poling, 2) a very strong pull point if you get stuck and need it, 3) a set of floundering lights. I predict that if you don't get it you will regret it. Most things about a boat are individual preference, but I always recommend this.

Thumbs up Re: I pulled the trigger on my new GT today!

You will definitely need the Turf . That Alum. gets a LITTLE hot , but it is an easy job , just a little time consuming is all....

CONGRATS on the order

Gitsum, Sounds like a mean fishing machine. Congrats

Post pics when you get her.

What about spray rails?

Somethng you might want to consider is asking Kman to put the receiver for a stablizer kit pole on the bow of the boat. For hunting the stablizer kit (front and back) are a must, however I use my bracket up front for fishing all of the time and love it.

When I hook a red fish and set the hook, I manage to grab my cajun anchor and slide it down the front stablizer bracket. It stops my boat in its' tracks (just like the concept of a "Power Pole"). This is beneficial to me so that I do not disturb the rest of the pond while fighting a red fish. It is also prevents a large red fish from pulling me around in my boat. I use this system as an anchor anytime I am in shallow water. Works great to hold my position for a few minutes while I work an area or cut. If I am in deeper water, then I can use my longer spud pole.

Here is a pic of the stablizer kit.

Here is a pic and video where you can see how I use this stablizer kit while fishing. I have a rope tied to the cajun anchor which is like a solid SS metal 6' pole.

PS: Let I and the LA bunch know when you come down and we might be able to break your new boat in chasing some tail (red fish) LA style.

I may opt for a spary on deck liner i.e. Rhino liner or another brand that is a little softer.

Yeah I originally was only interested in the performance issues and finding a hull motor combo that would do what i needed it to do where I use the boat, that morphed into a multitude of on and off topic conversations, includin "gadget" conversation sthat I allowed my self to get wrapped up in but within all that Tornado of info i learned what i needed to learn from everybody that contributed and i appreciate it greatly. There is not a whole lot of performance info on the wider hulls (62") and I intend to wring every ounce of performance outta the Gator Flat as a tiller steer as possible so i can add experience and knowledge to the forum when it comes to the 62" tiller steered hull performance!

Congratulations. You will love your GT. Beware spray in liners on the floor. All the one's i have seen were as slick as bare aluminum and started to crack and peel at some point. Hydroturf is the ticket IMHO. Good luck and enjoy!

Looks nice! Glad you finally decided on what you want. Now don't look back and enjoy. Good luck on the patience part though while the boat is being built.
