Default Gator Trax sliding transducer mount

I know this topic has been asked about a couple times on here, but I keep forgetting to snap some pics of what I get Gator Trax to make for me when one of my customers want a depth finder transducer mount that will allow the transducer to slide up when you get into the shallows.

Simple/easy design that works like a champ.

There are some other things in the works we want to do to it. I would like a quick release to make the slide automatically go up when released. Looking at doing it with a spring of some sort. We ran that setup today in the picture and the sounder never skipped a beat.

what about using a actuator ,flick a swich or have a rocker swich up/down?? there for you dont even have to mess with a pin.

sweet looking though!!

cool idea. might have to try that on my new fiberglass boat. Make a clamp on type bracket that could be put on either boat. That way I don't have to buy two depth finders

Not I. I use the poor man's power pole which is a spud pole!

I would like to a power pole on the bay boat though!

Actually it is closer to $2K when you get all the goodies to go along with it.

Yep...........I thought the same thing........But after the thought process ended and it was hanging off the transom..........Money well spent.

They are awesome for drift fishing on the bow. When you find the hot spot or get into a school you can hit the remote and stop the boat........catch a few....get em off(not like that Andy!!!!)....drink a beer......pee......catch a few more....more beer.....all with out having to re drift over the hot spot.

Very cool invention.

That couldnt be more true. Every one that I have rigged on a boat, the customer want to punch me in the mouth when they get my invoice, but a week later they come in and want to kiss me for selling it to them.

After seeing them in action, I still think they are a little to pricy for me, but I will admit that I catch more fish when I go with a friend that has one installed on his boat.

Snyder builds river jets and has a similar mount. Also, he has a sliding fin that keeps the boat straight when using the trolling motor. Sled style boats tend to drift and swing...this really helps.

Thinking about putting one on my Hide for fishing. For the record...I can everywhere these jet guys can and then some. Jets and weeds don't mix well!

we used to make quite a few of these when the old longtails were the only thing going on the boats. Now, with the new surface drives, they can stay in the water and guide the boat and a rudder is not really necessary.
Just trim motor down and fasten a bungee from handle to the floor.
