I plan on ordering the 4 man with a 35 hyper in a month or two, was wondering if anyone out there has anything bad to say about em. The look great and I just want to hear a little more from the people who have put some hours on em. The area that I hunt in south Texas doesn't have any trees ( mostly salt marsh ) and hiding the airboat can be a pain when you got to walk a long ways in deep mud. Haven't seen any video of the hide in the mud and was wondering if it works as good as some of the smaller boats with the 35HD. |

When I get some decent weather, I'll work on getting some pics, video, and playtime info on the hide....more so than what hunting it has done so far....when it's hunting time, it's hunting time, and pics, videos, or seeing how far I can go into something nasty that has no ducks has to wait until after the season.

No doubt! We all have to do our part to protect the rest of the world from those little winged menaces to society. Hopefully they will get some new stuff on the Gator Trax web site before to long. |

Thats the skinny. Kent |

Thanks Kent Just trying to get a as much info on it as I can. I have talked my self in and out of the 45 at least a dozen times already. It looks like you can send the motor back later and get it converted. Is that true? I really am not all that conserend about the speed, I have and Airboat and a real nice bay boat if I get in a hurry. As long as it'll take 2 people and gear about mid 20s that is ok with me. If I can add nuts to the motor later thats even better. |

I try to be the voice of reason concerning speeds . . . maybe I should go into politics. Figure how far you run, look at speed, then look at TIME. Ten mile run at 30 mph = 20 min, at 25 mph = 24 min, at 20 mph = 30 min. THEN figure out if you can even make the run at 30 mph . . .

I'll tell you this, if the temperature is below 30deg, 25mph is as fast as I can run far, unless I get a full face helmet or something.....the liquid in my eyes goes to freezing.

| Almo, you are a wuss. Try running at 20+mph in 5 degree weather! Seriously, I have thought about getting a full face safety shield myself. I have just about blasted my eyes out running in sleet and wind.

Coonasses are wusses.....get's below freezing and I guarantee you can't buy milk at a grocery store in half of LA. I run in below 15 degree weather at least a few times a year, and I generally want goggles when I'm doing it.....but the point is that you see all the folks wanting faster and faster on a duck rig.....but when it gets really nasty, there's a whole lot of backing off the throttle goin' on. The wind is bad enough, but really cold in the rain and spray at over 25mph starts to suck in short order. HH, I've slept in 2' of snow for several weeks before, and I know I could care less if I ever do that stupid crap again. Call me a wuss, but when the liquid in your eyes is like ice when you roll over in the a.m. and you gotta keep your toothpaste and water in the bag with ya just to keep it from freezing so you can brush your teeth, it's downright ignorant.:Banane15:

Ta hell with that!!! If it snows in South Texas they roll up the asphalt and close every thing down. We dont do snow!!! As a matter of fact on the coast it very seldom stays cold long enough to get below freezing. We see a whole lot of 60 deg Dec/Jan hunts. We keep a full face helmet on the airboat for the driver for those days when it 35 deg and raining. A little rainX on the visor and it all good. Like I said before speed aint all that important to me. We usually got to go about 10 to 12 miles across the bay to get to the happy hunting ground but saving 4 or 5 min to get there aint wort an extra 2500 to me. So long as the boat doesn't suffer on the low end. There is pretty much always water with a real soft bottom where I want to go and I have no intentions of stopping ontop of a pile of mud just to see if I can get going again..... Thats bull ****, Im sure i'll try it but more to prove a point than anything else. The point is where I intend to go aint that extream. Lawman |

Almo, I have done a couple of runs this year that were so bad with wind, cold and sleet that I basically couldn't look ahead. I would steal a glance in the direction that I was going every 10 seconds or so and keep my face buried sideways in between. I looked up a few times to narrowly avoid piers, logs and shoreline. The stuff we do to shoot a few birdies... |

| You ever heard this exchange in the dark: "Man, I thought this thing could go faster?" "It can. You wanna drive?":024:

That comment wasn't for you. I was talking about a buddy of mine who had never been on one of the lakes I hunted in Louisiana until he went with me. Even better was his comment of:WTF: when we made the run out of the timber and back down the lake through the stump field in daylight. Now realize I have a very detailed route marked on my GPS and had made that run 40-50 times in the dark. Had also marked with bright eyes any really bad stumps. At least the ones above the water:017: . How did your season end? Went up and hunted swan creek area last weekend as well a a private pond a friend of my dad has.. Shot a few woodies and greys. Best thing was got to take my 3 year old out for his first duck hunt with both dad and grandpa. I didn't say nothing with you cause I could see where we were going and I was more interested in the GT boat and the big a## motor on the back .

:food-smiley-012: Season petered out as January went along....backwards from most years....usually gets better.....had one half-decent shoot after you came up, and that was only because we got into some geese unexpectedly.....the ducks were pretty non-existant.....Maybe next year it will move more birds. I wish you had come up earlier in the season....fun shoots on several mornings.:024:
