    Default Full of questions ???????????

I am new to the forum so I will have a lot of questions.
I now have a Roughneck 1752.I does a good job but is a bit cramped for floor space when hunting three or four hunters.
I am looking at going to a longer wider boat like the War Eagle 1860 with open floor, drppped front deck and rear pods.
Does Excel make a 1860 or possibley even a little wider boat?

I have a 17/53 Roughneck with a 35 Hyper sport. I know what you mean by not having enough space. I'm thinking about doing the same thing. If I hunt 3 people thats about it. Any more you have better be really friendly and have ear plugs. If I had it all to do over again I would go with an 18/60 to start with.

Since were talking custom boats I`m thinking maybe the 1860 or even a 1966.I push my 1752 with a 25 hp Merc and it does a greay job.Just wondering what would be needed to push a 1860 or a 1966?

duckduck I also started with a 25 outboard on my Lowl. I went to a 40 HP out board and it moved right along no problem even with a full load of decoys people and a dog. My best advice would be to call Mud Buddy and talk to somebody there to help you out. They will bend over back words to help you out.

If you want it and have the money to pay for it Tim can build it and build it well. Trust me, I have one and love it. Just tell Tim what you want and he can custom build it. If you are interested in getting your moneys worth out of a large rig like you want, have it custom built instead of buying an oversized production boat. This is not a knock against WE because their success speaks for itself, but when you start looking at a large rig for duck hunting 4 people you need a rig that is laid out specifically for that purpose and Tim will do that for you. Plus, if you hunt shallow, the excel will be built for impacts with stumps, etc by incorporating .125 thickness and longitudinal bracing. WE won't do either of those. Just call Tim tomorrow and he'll fix you up.

    BuckDuck,

First off Excel does make an 18x60.

It is a lot like an Lowe in the fact that it is braced port to starboard, although it is all welded.

It does have the back pods, open floor plan and the drop deck.

It is a great boat to run with an outboard.

They do also make a 72" wide but not until the 20' mark in length.

If you are looking to run a Mud Buddy, I would suggest the 18x54 Midwest Edition or the 18x54 Mud Buddy Edition. Both can come with an open floor plan.

The 18x60 with a side console can have up to a 115hp the standard tiller version is rated at 50hp.

Let me know if you need anything else.

The Excel 1860DB tiller version is rated for a 60hp. Commercial tag is available and I have had a 90hp tiller on an 1860DB.
