As many of you know, a year ago, Rivertrail was destroyed by a tornado and subsequently went out of business. Along with the factory, Tim Scott's dream of having a line of custom sport boats was also dashed away.
However, after months of hard work, a hardy investment and renewed vision, Excel is back.
Monday I will travel to Mountain View, Arkansas to meet up with Tim and former Excel employees to officially open the Excel Boat Company in north central Arkansas.
Excel has purchased new state-of-the art CNC boat building equipment and plans to release the Shallow Water Edition boats first this spring and we will add the remaining lines of hunting and fishing boats throughout the summer.
We are updating the web page at www.excelboats.net this week and will be sending previous and new dealers their dealer packets within the next couple weeks.
Clint Hovey will be managing the national sales team which will include three regional sales reps and an in-house customer service staff. Their phone number for now is 801.352.1458.
Mud Buddy will be one of Excel's customers and we are excited about adding the Excel line to our existing lineup of quality shallow water boats from Gator Trax.
By 2010 Excel will have a second boat building factory in Salt Lake City and will distribute bay, bass, crappie and custom shallow water boats to the west, Alaska and Canada.
So everyone, please welcome The Excel Boat Company.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Team Excel, makers of the well-known Excel Boats, proudly announces the opening of its new boat manufacturing facility in Mountain View, Arkansas, located in the Ozarks, 70 miles north of Little Rock.

The new state-of-the-art boat building facility will produce a full line of Sport Utility hunting and fishing boats from 14 to 20 foot. Models include the long awaited Shallow Water Series, Sport Utility boats, our center console Bay boats, the conveniently designed Crappie craft and our sleek and fast Bass boats.

Leading the Shallow lineup is the newly designed V and flat front hunting boats with spacious interiors, smooth bottom and triple taper chine.
Hunters turn to Excel when they are looking for tough performance boats that are loaded with well thought out standard features, ruggedness built throughout, and extreme value.

“Our skilled craftsman will build you the best combination of speed, turning performance, handling, and riding comfort,” says Tim Scott, Vice President for Manufacturing. “And as expected, we will back up every boat with our performance warranty.”

Excel will begin production with the Shallow Water Series and Bay boats and will add its other lines later in the season. Excel is also working to offer its first line of pontoon boats for early 2010. Excel’s first boats will come off the production line in early May of this year. Sportsman can order boats now and will be able to pick up their boats directly from the factory until August 2009. After that, Excel will be primarily dealer sales only and customers are welcome to order from our national dealer network. Excel will have a regional retail store in Mountain View, Arkansas as well.
We expect our staff of experienced regional field sales reps to have over 100 dealers by year end. Additionally, most of Excel’s previous dealers have been approved to carry the boats this fishing and hunting season and they should have stock in early summer.

“Please accept my personal invitation to visit our dealers and website at www.ExcelBoats.net to learn more about the many advantages of owning an Excel boat for your style of outdoor adventure,” added Tim Scott. “I have worked all my life for this moment, and I hope to win over your business. I am excited beyond explanation.”

Excel Boats has a reputation that speaks for itself, so waterfowl industry leaders and professional outdoors men all agree - it is the boat to own.
