    Default Dealer Recommendation

I'm going to purchase an Excel 1854SWVF4 with a 45MAG in the next couple of months. I'm located in Iowa, but willing to drive if it saves me some $$$. Any recommendations on dealers?

The owner of Mudbuddy Northwest has no problem going the extra mile to help folks out of a jam when something is broken. I say this not to direct you to him but to remind you that when you really need a dealer, it is good to have a hook up with somebody close to you. Your season opener or other important hunt could depend on it. I know a few guys in North Idaho who were glad they bought their boats locally instead of shopping for a lowball price. Probably didn't pay any more buying locally anyway.

    Food for thought.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll drive if the savings is significant, but I like to buy local whenever possible, even if its a few bucks more. And I agree, local service is something you can't live without.

I wound up at Shallow Water Marine in Palo, IA. I talked to 5 dealers, but they had the best price by far. Also, a buddy of mine bought a boat there a year ago and had good things to say about them. I ordered the boat on Monday. Nothing left to do but wait.

Excel 1854SWVF4 with Mud Buddy 45 Mag. One of the guys I hunt with has the same boat with the 4500 Black Death. I've driven it and hunted out of it, liked it a lot. I went with the Mag for the heavy loads I carry when hunting and the ability to add mods if I ever need more power. Probably won't, but you never know.
