Question Boat colors?

Does Gatortrax offer another standard solid color than the dark green? Such as tan? I noticed a tan base to the "nat gear" camo that would suffice my needs. A lighter solid color would be cooler on summer days.
Do they also make available "puff" cans to match for any touchups needed?

They do. Just had a customer want the same thing.

This color is no additional charge. For $75 you can pick a sherwin williams color and GT will spray it your color.

That looks much cooler than dark green and esay to camo your self. Almost the same color as my Tunnel boat i just sold and it never got hot at all even in dead of summer.

My boat is a custom color gray, so you can have just about any color you want for a few $ extra.

SMILIN JACK, I retro fit shark eyes. If you choose to do it, PM me your address (when I get my PM box cleaned out) and I will send you a pattern to cut the hole to minimum dimensions. Make sure you can get wires to the spot, and that nothing is in the way behind them.

Just cut the hole (actually it is an oval shaped hole) and hook up and mount the light. Pretty easy job if you have the right tools.

Gitsum,

That is actually my boat in the picture and I LOVE the color. After looking at the Gator Brown in person, it's not that bad either. It is truly a greenish/brown, but I like my color MUCH better for where I hunt.

No touch up cans for the cobblestone, only the brown.

We do sell the shark eye lights. You take the rubber gasket that comes with it and place it on the boat where you want it. Then trace the inside of that gasket with a marker. Take an 1" 7/8 hole saw and drill a hole on the left, then another on the right. The two holes will slightly overlap. Take a jig saw and cut off the two tips between the circles. Done.

Difference between the two colors in August will be "Burning Hot" vs. "Burning Hot".

Dude if you are in Florida you will need HydroTurf or you will be scalded even if you paint it white.

I don't see the scalded comment. My tunnel is a little darker than the cobblestone and it does not get "scalding" hot. In fact it's not bad at all I do plan to either add the hydro turf or use some sort of light colored spray on liner though. I just don't have the funds right now and all that can come as needed. here is a pick of what color my tunnel was and like i said it ain't that hot.

Comment came from my experience

Texas: Boat in open water in August, mid day. Can't lean against the gunnel, couldn't sit on the front deck without Hydroturf etc... uncomfortably hot to the touch.

Maybe my boat is a heat sink, but its too hot for me to sit on the painted metal without a pad much less the dog, wife, son....

once gitsum sees turf at GT he will be a believer.

you can ask anyone on the web, pick a web site, it does work quite a bit better than any spray on liner etc.

Hey guys what do you think? I personally think this would be a great pattern for Gitsum. I don't think that Gatortrax will have it available until 09 though..
I thought about it and I think it would look much better on HIS boat
Sorry Gitsum, I was going for a tiger print, but this is close enough..

I would have to agree with the color vs heat theory. The cobblestone seems just as hot to me as any other color this past August/July. The Hydroturf however, will make a difference. I don't have any yet, but I have been in my GT and a buddy's that has Hydroturf on the same day in the same heat, and Hydroturf is no comparison at all to which color the boat is.

It doesn't make a difference really in the color. I have grey boats, white boats, cobblestone boats, and brown. I would give anyone a hundred bucks if they can leave their hand on ANY of them for more than 10 seconds without grimacing! on a hot summer day. But you can walk barefoot on black hydroturf.

Now, I understand Gitsum's point too. If the funds dont permit it, get the lightest color you can till they DO permit it!! It will help on the marginally hot days and that is better than nothin!
