Default Blind Height

I have a Fastgrass Blind on a boat that is 72 inches wide across the top. I've had it for three years and am going to put new grass on it this year.
When I originally installed it I cut the legs of the blinds so the blind would fit inside the boat. The blind is way too short.

I am considering making the legs longer and having the blind, when folded, stick out, about 6 - 8 inches from the side of the boat.

Has anyone else done this? What problems did you have?

id be careful with it sticking out that far. If you go through trees, hit a boat dock etc you will damage it more than likely.

how short is it when you sit down?
Can you lower your seats. are you sitting on seat poles etc?

I can't sit any lower in the boat I'm seated on a bench seat. The blind comes up to about mid chest on me, I'm 6'2". I would like it to come to about chin level so I could look around and be able to duck down into the blind without having to double over.

I think this blind may have been designed by a short person.

The other option you have it to get a piece of metal tubing from the hardware store that is slightly smaller/bigger than the blind tubing. Sleeve it over (or inside of) the blind tube legs and drill several holes through them. Pick up a D-ring while your at the hardware store to put through it to hold it in place and whoala... adjustable height.

What Browning said...that's the way to do it. I have also seen it done with a solid, aluminum bar stock inner 'tube', with the holes in it on each mount.
