Anybody freaked out about this bird flu hitting the U.S.? My hunting buddy thinks it will wipe out duck hunting for the next few seasons. What do you guys think?

I went to a seminar Saturday put on by the waterfowl division about bird flu. Out here in the west they are working with the dept. of health in letting them know how important hunting is and IF it ends up in migrating waterfowl that they do not want to see a closed season. Bird Flu has been in Canada for about five years know but it is a strain that is not harmful to humans and waterfowl. we have talked to our managment here locally and they say as of know all they will do this seawon is have check stations set up to take bllod samples to monitor it and pray it doesn't show up!

Brother, Go to the Main Forum. Check out a thread I started: Bird FLu and the Bird Hunter. I would welcome your response. I believe that you would find a couple of links there pretty interesting. One is to Alaska Game and fish. They filed a report Labeled. Bird Flu and the Bird Hunter. There are a couple of other links as well. This is a topic that needs to be discussed but one that is finding few ears to land on. I believe it is a serious matter.I hope we don't wait till its too late to react!
