Re: hyper tunnel and hyper lite
Bubby, not to hijack the thread, but I'm curious about your tunnel dimensions, mostly height, width, length. I assume is has "mitered" (sp?) corners like most.
I wonder if a tunnel "needs" the Lite or Balanced as much as another hull might. Yes, you may be running a tunnel due to obstructions like stumps (which would argue FOR a Lite or Balanced) but then again, you DO have the tunnel to help keep the drive out of stuff.
Another thing I have heard mentioned, but not often . . . Comparing the 27" drive on the Sport to the 36" drive on the Balanced is not exactly apples to apples due to differences in the frame pivot locations, etc. To complicate things even more, how far the prop is behind the transom may not be a good indicator of how far the prop can get into the mud when you lower it.
There is an awful lot to keep up with considering the different drive shafts, frames, belt housings, transom heights, transom angles, and tunnel dimensions!!! No wonder we stay confused!!!
Hopefully, some with knowledge and experience will enlighten us.
