It's gonna be a hoot!.....We've got all sorts of terrain; mud, veggies, hard bottom, creeks, flats, and STUMPS. Might want to bolt your motor down.:crazy: I have a Mud Buddy rate at the Jameson Inn of Scottsboro, so check the roundup page for contact info to book your rooms. We likely won't have a poker run due to the tight quarters back in some of the creeks, but will have a 'Decoy Hunt', instead. Find as many decoys hidden throughout the search area as you can, and each will have a number that corresponds to some sort of prize. Many will be easy to find, but HARD to get to. Some will be easy to find and reachable, but hard to get back out of. Some will just be mud boat traps.:crazy: They'll be surrounded by stumps in 2" of water over silted hard bottom, so you better snatch them w/o slowing down....
or you'll be in stump 'jail'. I'm sure for one of your hard found decoys, somebody will snatch you out. We'll have plenty of snakes and stinging biting insects, but no gators, so be prepared....no firearms, please, as this IS a refuge....but if you want to off a moccasin with your push pole, be my guest.
This will be at a city park ramp with all sorts of family groups around and in attendance, so please behave accordingly. We will have waivers to sign and everyone must drive sober. Alabama has a DUI law for the water that is the same as the road, 0.08 on the breathalizer, and you'll get a DUI for driving your boat, with the same penalties as driving your truck on the highway....just fair warning.
