I did quite a lot of red fishing when I was in SC. Really hoping to get more into the offshore stuff there. The problem I had in SC with the offshore fishing was my boat holds 84 gallons of fuel and in order to really reach blue water there (100+ ft) you pretty much had to run about 70 miles offshore. I just simply didn't have that kind of range with trolling time. So I am really hoping that my boat fits the bill for LA a little betteer than it did in SC. I don't have a smaller boat right now that really allows me to fish the flats/marshes. My boat has a deep V hull and fishing the marshes is a little tricky. I made it work for me in SC but its definately challenging. So I hope at some point after relocating i can find a way into a smaller boat to do the red fish/trout fishing.
