If they indeed do come out with some sort of bolt-on reverse id be willing to guarantee they would be on back order for awhile. I dont know where you hunt rocketman but where I hunt reverse is not a neccessity but is definently a plus. When you go froggin down canals and pull up into the bank to catch the frog you then have to pull out the pushpole and back your self away from the bank. When I go scouting in flooded timber im always going down canals to find potholes and other good spots that ppl in outboards cant get to. Im not a PD natzi like those fools on MMT but I do recognize that the lack of reverse for mudbuddies is a point on the negative side for ppl in the market for a new motor. |
I hunt and frog and flounder the same basic type of country that you hunt and I also feel what your saying. I'd rather push pole than spend the time it take to put some of those motors in reverse. I too have driven all there is to drive and they had reverse when I bought mine in 2006. Now this is my personal opinion and I didn't feel that you were touting anyones motor in particular. My statement was from a Marketing point of view. When it gets closer to huntin' season you will see where you can and cannot buy a motor. What I mean by that is that MB along with GT already have sales over what they can produce in a hurry, reverse or no reverse. And I'm not bragging on MB just an observation since I have gone through the waiting process for my rig like alot of others. One more thing is the service I have recieved from these manufacturers. I tried real hard to buy another brand first but ended up with a MB. Thank the Man upstairs. Like I think I said at first. I subcontiously don't put myself in a situation to need it, if
I can help it. And too, his is a well covered topic. you can read about this topic in the archives til your blue in the face but It doesn't seem to stop sales of MB. I do beleive that it does effect a certain percentage of buyers like yourself Jason. I don't know about you but I'm ready to go Huntin' but fishin' will have to do this weekend. Have a good one.
