35 Hyper Problem

Ive got a one year old 35 van hyper with 85 hours. I had it running 2150 RPM wide open out of the water and about 3950 in water. It seems all of a sudden my idle is turning 1600 rpms. I tried to figure out what happened. I turned the gov screw down to lower the idle and that worked but I cant get anywhere near 2100 rpms wide open. When I turn the gov screw back up my out of water rpms come back up but so does the idle. Before I was turning 1100 or so RPM at idle. Its not the idle screw I checked that. So what in the heck? Help please before I have to take it to a Briggs shop.
