I hunt S.D. every year for the last 7 years. I cannot believe the amount of Birds that I see there. I have heard that N.D. is even better. Don't know about the set up there . In S.D. there is a draw for Waterfowl if your'e an out of state hunter. Pheasant hunting is just a small game permit.
We hunt the Webster area of S.D. . Every thing , even the Vet , is cheaper than the East Coast. Nothing at all to have 20 or 30 birds get up in front of you. Took us by surprise the 1st time. I would think that N.D. is the same . You really don't need to pay to hunt ,it seems there is more Public Land in S.D. than the entire State of Md , where I live. Had never seen hundreds of Mallards in a dry cornfield before , plus the geese.
