Unfortunatley it is impossible. The receiver hitch is not only welded but bolted inside to the longitudinal braces. It is stout and you can pick the boat up from that point if you wanted to.
Knees, if you take that drop hitch to someone and have them weld a bead on 2 of the corners (let the bead run as deep as the hitch goes into the receiver) then grind it back down a little it will stop rattling.
