Well Boys & Gals, Another Duck Season is upon us. I took my nephew on the youth hunt this weekend and it looks like it will be another banner year! We had plenty of ducks and it was a blast to sit back and watch him hunt while I coached him. It was his 2nd ever duck hunt and I think he is hooked on quack now. He shot 2 boxes of shells and bagged 2 gadwals. It was a good time for sure and I can't wait to take him again when I can hunt too. Our season in my area opens this Saturday (Nov. 10th). :Banane34: ![]()

Thanks for the GPS coordinates Coot. But when I plug em into Google it comes up as West Pig lips Louisiana right across the border from Swine Bladder Texas and I can't even see any water around there. Amazing and you still slaughter the ducks and redfish. I'll have to recheck those numbers. CJ |

I just sold a pup to a fellow in LA. He gave me an open ended invite to hunt with him down y'alls way. From the sounds of all this, I may have to take him up on it...

Well, How about it La. Boys? Did anybody kill any ducks this weekend? It was misserable in the blind today with temps in the upper 70's with 0 mph wind and a ton of gnats and mosquitos. If it wasn't opening day, I would of not been out there. I didn't hear that much shooting today and didn't see many ducks either. I was really disappointed with the amount of ducks I saw. :WTF: Our 3 man blind did get lucky knocking down 17 ducks recovering 15 of them. No duck hunting for me tomorrow. Taking my boy to Saints game instead. We shot 7 greys, 4 gw teal, 1 bw teal, 1 widgeon, 1 mottled duck, and yes 1 spoonie!

Well after one of the most stressful weeks ever, from trying to get everybody out on the water for opening weekend that is, there was not much that could keep me from taking out my frustrations on the ducks. Saturday AM at sun up it sounded like a war, as shots rang out in ever direction, but we just picked the wrong pond to start in, thus ended up moving twice and finished about 10:00 with 4 mottled, 4 bw teal, 3 gw teal, and one spoonie. The last spot we went to was loaded with teal and I wanted to throw some on the grill for the saints game so we went back on Sunday, and shot 12 bw teal by 7:15, but lost 3 in the broken marsh, so we set back up and about an hour later finished up with a pair of mottled, and a single teal. All in all it was a great weekend although the weather flat out sucked (hot, hardly no wind, and not a cloud in the sky).

The committee chairman and I spoke a while back about me bringing a boat to display, but unfortunately I still have too much work in the shop to think about closing early to make it down there.

| YES SIR! My next hunt will be Friday too, just havent decided where to go yet. My lease is holding a zillion teal, but no big ducks (except for spoonies that is) anywhere, so chances are I will head to a friends place in Mrytle Grove, who had a great hunts Sat Sun and this morning. And Saturday, I got an invite to hunt your lease with another member in his new 4 man hide, so chances are I'll see ya out there.

That's not bad Andy. Was that a 2 man blind and was that on your lease? I didn't make any hunts this Friday or this weekend. I hope to go hunting some this week around Thanksgiving.

Went to the new lease down around Port Sulphur. Saw very few duck. Did manage to scrach out a limit. 3 GWT, 1 Gray, 1 Spoon, and 1 Hen Pintail. Killed almost every bird I saw. Took 5 hours and the the stealth and comfort of a gatorhide.

I finally got out to make a hunt and was able to take my 5 year old boy with me on his first ever duck hunt. It was an awesome experience for him and I both. He shot a gw teal with his Buck BB Gun (SHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Don't anybody tell him any different). Daddy was able to take his one man limit consisting of 4 greys and 2 gw teal, but my boy might of shot one of those gw teal. I couldn't of asked for a better hunt. ![]() ![]()

My son begged me to take him hunting again on Thanksgiving Day and I did. He is hooked on quack now begging me to take him all the time now. Daddy shot a limit of ducks consisting of 3 greys, 1 bw teal, 1 gw teal, and a spoonie. My son was shooting at a lot of ducks with his BB Gun too. ![]() I found a new use of the extended deck. It's a great place for my son to get under during the rain. ![]()

| Me and my wife. 8 mallards, 2 gw teal, 2 redheads, 1 speck. This was Kim's first hunting trip ever. Her first duck was a gw drake and her second was a mallard drake. Looks like I have to mount both of them. ![]()

I can't seem to figure out the pic posting deal. I uploaded the first pic correctly. The other two say that they were uploaded succesfully but I can't find them in my gallery or any other.
