This is useful in order to determine if the boat and motor have the correct prop.For example a good motor and prop match will net 3800 to 3900 rpm under load. If your motor runs under 3700 RPM, you could use a smaller prop. If over 4000 perhaps you could use a larger prop, or your prop is worn down. | |

Screw it to the front of the motor and wrap the red pickup
lead around the spark plug wire and it shows the RPM when running and hours
