hypers in the glades.

Hi Chester its Manny, i talked to this guy (john monti) he saw some post of the hyperdrive that we posted on American waterfowlers site. he called me told me that he was interested and wanted one asap. i told him to contact lamarr , i knew that he had 3 units there ready so he did.
last night i get a call back told me that he purchased a 29 hp Briggs put it on a lund 1548 said he had speed of 32mph him only and 28-29 2 guys and a cooler full of beer.
he stated that its was everything i told him and thanked me for the hookup.

i need to get a little inside so when guys ask me i don't look stupid.

the word has got out that this animal will work in our neck of the woods.
now we are having a problem that every one that has a long tail is trying to sell it and there is no buyer for long tails they are all waiting to buy short tails.
i personally have a 31 gd that is like brand new and its been up for sale and not one person has call asking about it , they all call asking about my hyper and how its run. that's good for mudbuddy but not to good for the long tail guys.

thanks in advance.............Manny

Thank you, thank you, for following up and helping me out!  We are in our early teal season and the engine has been worth its weight in gold.  We have it hanging on a 18' war eagle and the combo is the envy of the Cheyenne Bottoms- we purchased two of these from Marshland Enterprises in Great Bend, KS.  Great group of guys, Doug was excellent to work with.

Thanks again,

Hi there,

I am curious as to what time frame you foresee starting sales on the liquid cooled vanguard 35 high transom?  Also have you sent out a lot of high transom models and what have the responses been like?  I have had the luxury of trying out the Kawasaki on a 20x44 go-devil boat.  I am sold on the liquid cooled motors due to the high heat and humidity here in south Florida.  I had one idea... have you ever thought of moving the trim switch into the end of the handle for thumb operation?  Not that you need any advice.

Thanks for your time,
Todd

6hp mudbuddy VS 6.5 hp go-devil....

6hp mudbuddy VS 6.5 hp go-devil....

I have a 6hp min hyper and a 6hp 6.5 hp go-devil

The other day i took them both out and I tell ya there is a huge difference in speed and power...the mini hyper is just flat out smokes it and pushes it threw the weeds way better...just gota love being able to turn that bigger prop!!

Next Tuesday i'll have gps speeds for both and they'll be mounted on the transoms of 2 different 4 rivers boat cause we is going on some scouting missions!!

Wanted to let you know that I had a customer call me last night.  He is an older fellow and got that first 23 that we got in.  He said he is HIGHLY impressed with the hyper.  He wanted to go with the 23 b/c several places he hunts has a 25HP limit.  He put the 23 on an 18'48" washata flatbottom boat. He told me that on Saturday they took a new GPS and with 2 people, a dog, and all hunting gear and they consistently got between 20-21MPH out of that sucker.

Sunday -- 10/3/04 --

Today we ran it here and there and found on giant mud flat that with me (210#) and my buddy (190#) that the 24 Honda Hyper had a top speed of 25.9 mph (per Garmin Etrex Legend GPS). By myself, I topped at 26.6mph. We were running in about 6-8 inches of water. These numbers are legit and are not inflated!

One thing I am impressed with about the Hyper is the ability to steer in timber over typical longtail(s). Obviously has the speed when you need it and the power to push a load in open water.

For what its worth, I took most of those pictures. So thanks. Duckmeister did get the pic of the coppehead while I was busy cleaning out my drawers after he bit me on the boot. He gnawed on duckmeister's waders a bit, too.

Here's the rest of the story.....

I don't have any use for those mud motors. I do not care for them at all. After duckmeister came up last winter with that thing that he had at the time, I knew they were all crap.

That being said....I had a good time playing with the Hyper this weekend. We went places in those swamps where beavers get stuck and turn around. Duckmeister could actually steer this one and was able to control it (unlike the long tail one he used to have). It actually went fast enough to fight a current (also unlike his old one). We took that thing far beyond anything I expected it to do. I was actually impressed.

The speeds he was claiming were legitimate, because I GPSed them myself. He (surprisingly) did not inflate them. And everything he said about the motor mount was true. When they get that kink out of the program, and make it where you can bolt the motor onto the boat (like a real motor), they will have a good product. It was way tougher than I ever expected and took more abuse than I thought was possible.

For a fee, I'll give coordinates to the "boat ramp" that we used to get this thing a good work out. I'll even guide you through the swamps, as long as I don't have to get out and push when you get it stuck.

We had a blast!!!

24 Honda - 1546 Xpress:  Heck yeah, I got 25.9 with me and another fella @ Tigrett WMA in NW TN.  26.6 having removed the cooler of drinks and my buddy.  I have no problem running 22-23 with everything I carry hunting.  The blind isn't on the boat, but only weighs about 70 lbs.  In all honesty, the motor really is too much for the boat.  Some idiot that doesn't have the sensor in their brain to slow down at odark thirty when in a swamp or timber will get hurt running this motor on a small light boat.  Come next summer I am going to sell this Xpress and put this 24 on a GT.  Corry Morrow, TX

To the staff at Mud Buddy,

On 10/04/2004 I took possession of my 18x54 Guide Edition Gator Trax Hyper-Tunnel boat with the Mud Buddy Hyper Drive Vanguard 31. I purchased the boat from BFC Marine and I can't say enough about their staff especially David and Ladonna Porter or about the Form, Fix and Function of my Mud Buddy Motor / Gator Trax Boat. The boat far exceeds my expectations in both looks and performance. After hunting and Fishing the James River at Scottsville VA. for over 40 years I can finally say that I have a boat/motor combination that will take me anywhere on the shallow, rocky, sandy and muddy James that I choose to navigate. My previous boat was a Lowe Roughneck with a 55 HP. Suzuki Jet Drive motor. I can say without doubt that the jet drive is not in the same league with the Mud Buddy Motor. The ability to raise and lower the prop in and out of  the water and reposition the prop. truly makes this a four wheel drive boat. I am 62 years old and I am not easily impressed, but with this boat/motor combination I couldn't be happier. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for the excellent website that you have that has been so informative to me.

A Happy Customer,

Walter Townsend

Gentlemen,

Just a note to tell you how much I am enjoying my Gator Trax boat with 27 hp Mud Buddy motor. It is really a fantastic boat, very comfortable to fish out of and with the motor guide great white 54 trolling motor on the bow it is an excellent back water craft. Can't wait for duck hunting season. I bought my boat and motor from Valdosta Mud Buddy, Paul Arnold, who is first class and a real great guy to deal with. The boat has exceeded all expectations. Sincerely, Lee Huszagh

Thanks Mudbuddy

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK GLENN AND ALL THE STAFF AT MUDBUDDY FOR BUILDING SUCH A QUALITY PIECE. ( HYPER 35)

WE JUST STARTED OUR SEASON TWO DAY AGO, I JUST WANTED TO LET THE GUYS ON THIS FORUM KNOW HOW HAPPY I AM WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF MY HYPER 35.

I HAVE RUN THE BOAT BEFORE THE SEASON AND DID SOME SCOUTING, THE SPEED WAS INCREDIBLE BUT THE TRUE TEST IS WHEN DUCK SEASON IS OPEN,

MY RIG 1748 GATOR TRAX, HYPER 35,GUN BOX, STORAGE BOX, FULL FLOOR. APPROX 475LBS, FAST GRASS BLIND.
WITH 2 HUNTERS 1-280 LBS AND 1- 220. LBS 2- GUNS
LOTS OF SHELLS, 2- SETS OF WAITERS, 2-12V BATTERY,
35- KEELED DEKES, PLUS COOLER FULL OF DRINKS.
THE RIG PUSHED THRU SWAMP AT 27.9 TO 28.4 MPH
THE SPEED REALLY HELPS AS WE TRAVEL SOME 11 TO 13 MILE INTO THE SWAMP. IT GETS US THERE IN A HURRY.

HERE IS MORE OF A TEST THAT HAPPENED JUST YESTERDAY MORNING, AS I WAS RUNNING TO MY HONEY HOLE I GET A CALL FOR MY COUSIN THAT HIS HONDA 24HP QUIT RUNNING ( LOOKS LIKE SOME TYPE OF VALVE PROBLEM) HE WAS JUST A FEW MILE FROM THE RAMP SO I WENT TO PICK HIM UP. WE STUFFED HIS RIG IN THE TALL GRASS AND I TOOK HIM AND ALL HIS GEAR IN MY BOAT AND SET OFF TO THE HUNTING SPOT.
NOW 3 GUYS, NOT LIGHTWEIGHTS BY NO MEANS , LOADED TO THE GILLS , I HIT THE THROTTLE AND TO MY SURPRISE SHE JUST JUMPED ON STEP AND OFF WE WENT AT 25 MPH . SINCE I WAS A LITTLE LATE I ENDED MAKE SOME SHORT CUTS THRU SOME VERY THINK SAWGRASS( 6' THICK CANE LIKE GRASS) AND THAT BABY JUST BUSTED THRU THERE LIKE IT WASN'T THERE , IF I WOULD HAVE SEE THAT DURING THE DAY I WOULDN'T HAS TRIED TO GO THRU THERE ,IT WAS JUST TO THICK, BUT SOME HOW THE MONSTER HYPER PUSHED US THRU. YOU CAN SAY THAT I AM VERY HAPPY WITH ITS 4X4 LIKE DRIVE TO GET US THRU.
AFTER ALL THAT WE ENDED HUNTED 3 OUT OF THE BOAT AND LIMITED OUT EARLY.

MY COUSIN WAS SO IMPRESSED THAT HE IS NOW ORDERING ONE FOR HIS BOAT.

AT THE RAMP I GAVE ABOUT 6 DEMOS TO OTHER HUNTER THAT WERE THERE AND ASKED IF THE COULD TAKE IT FOR A RIDE

I EXPECT THAT THEY ALL WILL BE ORDERING ONE VERY SOON.

AGAIN THANK YOU MUDBUDDY YOU GUYS ARE FIRST CLASS.

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE GATOR TRAX A MAJOR THANK YOU FOR BUILDING THE BEST DUCK BOAT OUT THERE. THERE IS NO OTHER DUCK BOAT OUT THE FOR ME ONLY GATOR TRAX.

GATOR TRAX AND HYPERDRIVE THE ULTIMATE DUCK RIG HAND DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!
